    【Imperial Exclusive】 Medicinal Incense Series

The finest of the finest fragrances, exclusively for students of the Qing Dynasty's Imperial Academy!

    1. Crafted by the legitimate inheritor, the 12th-generation successor.

    2. Made using authentic Qing court recipes and preparation techniques.

    3. Ingredients sourced from wild herbs of the vast grasslands.

In summary: Legitimate heritage, reserved for royalty!

    • Without a doubt, this is incense of thehighest imperial caliber.

In the 14th year of the Kangxi reign (1675), a renowned perfumer was dispatched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the hometown of Empress Xiaozhuangwen to serve Princess Duanmin of the First Rank. The princess, known for her willful and imperious nature, enjoyed the highest honors from both Manchu and Mongolian nobility. Yet, for decades, she remained captivated by the fragrances created by this master perfumer—completely won over by his artistry despite her exacting standards.

    • Beyond his prestigious historicalstatus, his legacy continues today as an intangible cultural heritage. But doesmerely being "imperially commissioned" qualify something as culturalheritage? Far from it. Only with authentic recipes, raw materials, andcraftsmanship can it earn public recognition.

      The formula originates from exclusive
imperial records of the Qing court. Ingredients are wild-grown herbs from the
vast Mongolian grasslands, absorbing the essence of nature—far surpassing cultivated alternatives. Most importantly, the unique incense-making techniques embody the distinctive core of his artistry.

This particular incense was exclusivelyused in the Imperial Academy to aid concentration during study sessions.

Unlike today, where education is a universal right, Qing Dynasty society emphasized "hierarchical education." Only the children of officials and nobles were eligible to study at the Imperial Academy, making it a privilege almost exclusively reserved for the aristocracy. This incense was specifically prepared for those elite students studying and learning within the Academy.

Let me share some knowledge about the types of incense favored by the Qing imperial family.

Though the Qing Dynasty was ruled by the Manchu, its emperors held a deep appreciation for two distinct incense traditions: Central Plains incense (representing the school of traditional Chinese medicine) and Mongolian incense (rooted in Mongolian medical practices). These two types became the undisputed official imperial incense
      styles during the Qing era.

49 premium ingredients, sourced from the wild grasslands of Mongolia

Both traditional Chinese medicine and Mongolian medicine emphasize the importance of dàodì—authentic, locally grown ingredients. Just as “oranges grown south of the Huai River are sweet, while those north turn bitter,” ingredients thrive best in their native environment. The vast, sparsely populated Mongolian plains produce some of the finest medicinal herbs. Growing freely between heaven and earth, these wild plants embody the purity and dedication required for imperial-grade incense.

      2

A unique incense-making method—balancing timing, location, and human skill

How intricate was the process? The perfumer employed a palace technique known as mì bù tiào, which involved ten steps: baking, stir-frying, smoking, boiling, soaking, simmering, resting, dripping, feeding, and hanging.

      Effects:

Helps to calm the mind and improve focus – ideal for students during study sessions and professionals at work.

      Ideal For:

      Recommended Settings:
